"Uninformed and unhelpful"

About: Patford House Partnership

When I had my annual review, the pharmacist (certainly wasn't a GP), was concerned as my cholesterol levels had jumped from 5 in 2024 to 6.2. Her only advice was for me was to lose weight! However, as a dress 8, weighing 52kg where is my excess weight? Very insulting that she didn't read my notes as when I had the blood test the nurse noted my height and weight and said I was spot on. I also eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. I am therefore left bemused by the sudden rise in cholesterol. However, reading the nhs website this is probably due to me coming off hrt at my last review in 2024. I am now very confused as to how I should reduce my cholesterol.

I would ask that this person does a little research before jumping to the conclusion that a high cholesterol (and high bp) is always due to a weight problem. Us skinny people have problems too, we just need a different solution!
