"Always had a smile and a kind word"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / National Treatment Centre Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Orthopaedic Ward B23

(as the patient),

Having had ongoing knee pain due to arthritis caused by previous surgeries I  had a consultation with Mr Murray Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Following a full and in depth discussion I elected to have a full knee replacement.  Mr Murray’s comprehensive explanation of the process and his overall demeanour and professionalism gave me full confidence and reassurance in my decision to have this surgery.

Late April 2025 I underwent this procedure and was released the following day. I cannot praise highly enough all of the staff who cared for me during this process. From the reception and admitting nurses, the anaesthetic team who explained every part of their process and who put me very much at ease, the surgical team whose skill and professionalism are second to none through to the post surgery nurses at the National Treatment Centre who cared for my every need.

In addition I would also praise the work of the porters who ferried me around the hospital, the catering staff who kept me well fed and the cleaning staff as all of these people always had a smile and a kind word for me during their working day. I cannot thank all of them enough.

I am three weeks into my recovery and rehab and it is going well thanks to the efforts of all at this hospital

Dear phoenixft64,

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s wonderful to hear that your knee replacement surgery went smoothly and that you felt well cared for throughout the process.

Your kind words about the helpful staff you met means a great deal. I am so fortunate to manage a professional and dedicated nursing team and delighted to know this is what you encountered.

I’ll be sure to pass on your lovely feedback to Consultant Mr Murray and the rest of the team—it’s always encouraging for them to know the difference they’ve made.

Wishing you all the best in your continued recovery.

Kind regards
Megan Fleming
