"My support worker is lovely"

About: Health & Community Care Services / Dementia Support

(as a service user),

My support worker is lovely, friendly, easy to talk to and I trust her. She visits on a day where I am stuck in my house so it breaks up the week for me she/ her visits make me feel included, listened to and happy. I can be myself and I enjoy talking and listening.

If my mobility was better I would have enjoyed going out to the cafe and or other places with Sandra but my ability to safely walk aided or unaided has affected my opportunities to go out on her visits.

I was sceptical at first and thought I don't need this, but Sandra took time to build a relationship with me during her first visit which set my mind at rest and thought I might just need this.

Accessing services can be daunting at first and I am pleased you and Sandra have build up relationship which has enabled you to feel comfortable and look forward to her weekly visit.
