"Daughter was in for opp on knee"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Day surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

Staff were amazing the whole day, always making sure to check in even if they were in seeing one of the other kids in the room especially the male (I am sorry never caught his name) who was on the floor who always took time to talk to her for 10 mins at a time. I think what helped was they didn’t treat my daughter like a child as she is 16 and technically shouldn’t have been in that ward, always tried to treat her more like and adult even when she was acting childish.

Hi Mcro91

Thank you for leaving such lovely feedback about your recent visit to ward 1A/day surgery. It's a stressful time for both yourself and your daughter but I'm pleased with extra chat helped alleviate her nerves.

I will pass on your thanks to Chris as I'm sure you are talking about him (he's our only male nurse). It really makes a difference to staff morale to know patients and parents appreciate the time spent with them.

Once again, many thanks and I hope your daughter has recovered from her visit.

Kind regards

Suzanne Pearson
