"A huge thank you, keep up the good work"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Stroke care (Wards 56 and 68)

(as the patient),

What’s all these complaints about our NHS?  I had a stroke on recently, early May and after initial assessment was sent to Ward 56.

I am 87 years of age and was fairly fit before the stroke. It’s a lifetime since I was last in hospital, so was overwhelmed by the love and support I received. The organisation ran like clockwork and all the staff were brilliant and the cleaners were diligent!

Charge nurse Sharon, physio Emma, occ physio Shannon and their colleagues were amazing!

The food was good, especially the soup, and I couldn’t been better looked after! Even managed a couple of art lessons with Neil! What a great idea.

Now I’m home with physio at home to commence soon! What more can I say - brilliant !

I praise God for His help and blessing through all at Ward 56!

A huge thank you, keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for your kind and uplifting message.

It truly means the world to all of us here on Ward 56 to hear how positively you experienced your care. We are absolutely delighted that you felt supported, valued, and safe throughout your stay. Your words are a testament to the dedication of the entire team—from our nurses and therapists to the cleaning staff, catering team, and everyone in between.

I’ll be sure to pass on your special thanks to Charge Nurse Sharon, physio Emma, occupational therapist Shannon, and Neil from the art sessions—each of them will be deeply touched to know the impact they had during your recovery.

We’re also so pleased to hear that you’re now home and continuing your journey with physiotherapy support.
