"Staff made me feel very welcome and safe"

This is my second return here at Dame Carol and i was 7 months sober and i'm aware of what triggered my relapse and now i know to avoid it.  I was made to feel very welcome on arrival and all the staff were very lovely and made me feel very welcome and safe and treated me with dignity and in a very professional manner.  

I was treated with medication over the first few days for cravings and withdrawals which went well.

There is groups on everyday consisting of morning meeting and readings from a Just For Today group and other groups of Meditation, Triggers, Cravings etc. which have been very knowledgeable, these are taken by the Recovery Workers.  There is also other voluntary groups in the evenings if you want to attend which are very good but not compulsory.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided with fruit and snacks at hand which are lovely and nutritious and if you want extras through the day a shop run is available to put your order in and if you have finished your meds and near the end of your detox you could possible go out on nurses approval, although it would always be chaperoned by a Recovery Worker.

There are plenty of art and crafts and board games etc., and film nights to give you the chance to make friends and be sociable. A TV is in your room when you arrive but only for 24 hours but there are two TV's in the lounge areas. 

There is a launderette so just ask the Recovery Workers and they will do for you. 

Staff are always on hand 24 hours to offer advice, support or just to have that chat and have always got time.

There is no smoking at all on the premises but vaping is allowed in the lovely garden area at back of house.

I have really appreciate being here and would like to thank Dame Carol for the chance. I really recommend Dame Carol to anyone looking to find a detox whether it be alcohol or drug related and you will not be disappointed with this detox.
