"Inhuman treatment when transfer"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

My wife was a patient of 'Glover' ward at Grimsby.

At 03:00 she was woken and told she was being transferred to Castle Hill Hospital in Hull.

No prior warning. She is being treated for infective endocarditis and two days earlier had ungone an operation to have a pacemaker removed/replaced.

To just wake a patient who is suffering from a potentially life threatening illness at 03:00 and transfer them without any prior notice is, in my opinion, disgraceful and inhuman.

The attitude of the two people who carried out the transfer was disgusting. One ridiculed my wife when she asked whether all her possessions were in her holdall.

But the second member of staff was worse. They put my wife on a trolley, when she was in the vehicle they had dumped her in an uncomfortable  position that was causing her pain and discomfort to the site of her recent operation. When she asked for help to move to a more comfortable position the staff member roughly grabbed her and dumped her back on the trolley/stretcher. Then she was to stop "whinging"!!

I complained about what my wife has stated amounted to a physical and verbal assault to Yorkshire Ambulance Service. They checked and assured me that they did not carry out the transfer. So who were these two disgusting individuals? Patient Transport?

It seems the NHS is very good at covering its tracks when it wants to.

We have complained to PALs but they were not much use.

Both my wife and I have now vowed to avoid getting involved in treatment from the NHS in the North Lincolnshire and Goole area at all costs, unless it is an emergency.

The so called health service they provide is abysmal.
