"Blood tests"

About: Antrim/Ballymena / Treatment rooms

(as a parent/guardian),

My 11 year old daughter was sent for a blood test in May. She has only ever had one before, last year and she had been left with a sore arm & significant bruise. She was nervous about attending. We went to the treatment room of Ballymoney Health Centre. We had the most wonderful member of staff, a healthcare assistant (in a stripey tunic) called Mandy who was outstanding. She chatted to my daughter, completed the blood test, (she felt nothing) used the butterfly and there is not a mark on her arm. Mandy was so natural and put her at ease and gave her sweets afterwards. I wish more members of HSC staff were as professional, kind and talented as Mandy.

Dear CC1245,

My name is Claire Bond and I am the Clinical Services Manager/Lead Nurse for the Treatment Rooms within the Northern Trust.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story. I am delighted to hear that it was such a positive experience for your daughter and you.

I will share this with Mandy and all the staff within the Treatment Room as they each work so hard to ensure all patients have a positive experience.

Best Wishes

Claire
