"Small gestures can be really impactful"

About: Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership

(as a relative),

My wife attended an appointment recently at CTAC Hub and I can’t say enough how impressed I was at the kindness of the nurse who saw my wife. My wife has difficulties in these types of settings and was really anxious.

The nurse was friendly, welcoming and reassuring. She spoke to my wife with compassion around her anxiety. The conversation was really positive for both myself and my wife and as the appointment went along she became a little more comfortable. The advice given was really thought through when discussing certain topics. It was non judgemental but still clear.

Even though this was for a quick and simple procedure attaining to my wife’s needs, I can honestly say it’s been one of the most positive experiences that has happened. The nurse's professionalism but also her caring nature she showed my wife by the way she listened, reassured her and talked to her with such compassion around her anxiety really shows how much she cares about her patients but also it’s a brilliant example of how small gestures in the way we talk and treat patients can be really impactful.

So a massive thank you to her for being kind and for how she treated my wife. You are truly a credit.
