"Starting IVF"

About: The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Me and my partner have been TTC for 7 years and last year we had an appointment to get our first IVF injection through NHS Scotland. This was cancelled as my smear test results were abnormal. My issue is that the past 3 years every smear test I do is abnormal, however, every gynae appointment I get the all clear. With the waiting times, I then cannot start IVF as it’s been the year and I’m due for another smear test.

This has been an ongoing cycle that we simply cannot get past. I had a private appointment which have stated my time is running out and they advise me to put a rush on the IVF however the doctors I speak to say there is nothing they can do.

I was hoping you had some insight into this and how I can move forwards.

Thank you
