"A prolonged wait for results and lack of patient consultation"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

Over a year I underwent a number of tests for stomach pain and heartburn, including an endoscopy. I was told at the time there was nothing to show on any tests. Now after 10 months I’ve had a letter from the hospital saying the biopsies show a high probability of coeliac disease and I should get a blood test. This has now been done and coeliac has been confirmed again just by a letter. I’ve had no chance to ask why this wasn’t noted for so long or any chance to ask any questions, just told that I’ll be referred to a dietitian.

Update posted by Ignored246 (the patient)

Following your response I emailed you immediately giving my details and full information about my complaint and there has been no reply at all. This goes further to confirm the lack of patient care I have experienced so far.
