"Reassured and made comfortable throughout"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit (SSPAU)

(as a parent/guardian),

My 3 year old was referred to SSPAU by our GP this recently for further monitoring and assessment with an acute illness, viral tonsillitis.

From point of referral the unit were friendly and efficient.

On arrival staff were expecting us and had a bed ready for my daughter.  Staff made sure we were reassured and comfortable throughout our short stay.

Nurse jess and Dr. Ogada both took time and effort to try and make my little girl feel at ease and made every effort to reduce her fears of the hospital environment. Jess went above and beyond in making sure she had suitable toys and snacks and even magicked a hospital gift for her birthday!

Dear vegacp76

Thank you for taking the time to share such kind feedback following your visits to SSPAU. I'm so pleased to hear that you and your daughter were reassured and comfortable throughout your time with us.

Our staff strive to ensure compassion and kindness in their high standards of care, and it is lovely to hear you experience was so positive.

I will ensure to pass this on to Jess and Dr Ogada.

I hope your little girl is feeling better and was able to enjoy her birthday.

Kind Regards,

Hannah
