"7 stitches in shin from Canyoning"

About: Lochaber (Belford) Hospital / Accident & Emergency Pitlochry Community Hospital / Outpatients Clinic

(as a service user),

On an outing with colleagues and new found friends, I bashed my shin on a rock while canyoning.

It took my 6 peers to haul me from the canyon, and Mountain Rescue to stretcher me the final kilometre to their 4x4.

Fort William (Bedford) Hospital, cleaned me up and sew me back together with 7 stitches.

10 days later, Pitlochry Hospital removed my stitches and offered advice on aftercare.

Dear trapperxq89

Thank you for your kind post following your emergency attendance at Belford Hospital.

I am sorry to hear that your adventures found you with a severe injury which required extrication by the Mountain Rescue Service.

I am pleased to read that you received good care from everyone.

I can confirm that this has been passed to the team at Belford Hospital. They will be delighted to receive your kind feedback.

I hope that your recovery went well and that you will be back canyoning/exploring again soon.

with kind regards

Sylvia
