"Care & support at dialysis unit"

About: Western General Hospital / Renal Dialysis Unit

(as the patient),

I’ve been a patient at this unit for over 2 years

During that time I’ve received and continue to receive first class care and support from all the renal dialysis staff. Nothing is too much trouble for the nurses. Anytime I’ve needed help with anything all the nurses have been there for me

In particular Charlie Lorraine & Marsha helped me get through a bad time I had at the beginning of this year. I treat all the nurses as friends and really appreciate all the care and support they’ve given me here from Lisa, Jade and all the hard working team at this unit. We had a string quartet come and play for us recently and being a musician myself really enjoyed listening to them.

I’ve also formed friendships with many of the patients and although I’m looking forward to being called up for my transplant I will continue to keep in touch with Lisa and all the team here.

Dear Kenny mc,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share you experience of attending the Renal Dialysis Unit. It is so encouraging to read how supportive and caring the staff have been throughout your treatment. I also would have loved the string quartet.

I have shared your story with the service and they have been delighted to receive your feedback, particularly the staff you have individually mentioned.

Thank you once again and I wish you all the best with your transplant and ongoing treatment.

Kind regards,

Mariska

Hi Kenny,

Thank you for sharing your story. Its lovely to hear how well-supported and cared for you’ve felt during your time at the dialysis unit. I’m glad you enjoyed the string quartet – it was a pleasure having something a bit different for everyone to enjoy.

The team here at the unit really appreciate your kind words, and its lovely to hear that you have built strong connections with both staff and fellow patients over the past 2 years.
