My young person was referred by a very nice GP at SMP to adult MH services back in December 2024, we have since found out he was discharged from the services a week later unbeknownst to us as the practice did not let us know anything of this. In fact when my son asked for an update in February they told him 'there was nothing else they could do' despite it being on the system that he had already been kicked off the waiting list. 6 months on we have had of needless suffering and my son's condition getting worse, when we thought we were on a waiting list which turned out to be invisible. This has made a massive impact on my son's and myself's mental health due to the condition he is suffering. If we had known he had been discharged from secondary care services and referred back to primary care, we could have got more help for him and his mental health wouldn't be impacting his A level exams as massively as it is right now. It is the fault of SMP for not forwarding on correspondance to me about his discharge from care. Massive admin error causing maximum distress. Awful.. just awful.
