My GP informed A & E that I was coming, I had a temperature of 39C and blood pressure through the roof. I’d got a splinter that only pierced my skin but caused a massive infection.
I see the triage nurse who attempted to get bloods and after 3 times they said he would leave it to the doctor. I was sent back to the waiting room, still in pain and unable to get comfortable.
Then the absolutely wonderful Dr Grace called me through. She attempted to get bloods, (while listening to me tell my life story, bless her,) but I wasn’t sharing so she got a Dr who would be able to 1st time. Grace was right.
I had a seizure while I was with her and even though I couldn’t speak I could hear her and felt safe. Even though she wasn’t meant to have been as long with me, bless her she didn’t go until I was settled.
I never got the chance to tell her thank you for going that extra mile. I know she will be an awesome Dr when she’s fully qualified if she continues to be her. I was allowed home the next day.
A very big thank you Dr Grace you will always be remembered xxx
