About: The Highlands Practice

Your pharmacist called to let me know that I cannot have a health check as I am 77 years old, I suffer from psoriasis and this not Chronic.

What do you consider Chronic? I am informed that it psoriasis can lead to other illnesses such as heart failure etc.

Dear Ajith Tudugalle,

Thank you for taking the time to contact the Practice via NHS Rating and Reviews regarding your recent experience with us.

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your recent contact and experience with the practice. All feedback helps us understand what we are doing right and where we can make improvements, and your feedback allows us to do just that.

Please allow us to kindly advise, NHS Health Checks are offered to patients aged between 40-74 and who don't have certain pre-existing conditions. Further information and for a detailed list of these pre-existing conditions please visit the NHS website here: https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/nhs-health-check/

In relation to what we define as chronic, please allow us to advise we, in the context of the NHS, define Chronic as a Long Term Health Condition that requires ongoing management over time and that cannot be currently cured, but can be managed through medication and treatment.

We understand that this has been a frustrating experience for you and would like to assure you, if you would like to discuss this further with a clinician then please do contact the practice to request an appointment. Further information on appointments can be found here: https://www.meonhealthpractice.co.uk/appointments/

Be reassured your comments will be shared with our Practice Management Team as we continuously work to address areas of concern and further improve our service.

Your insight is appreciated and if you have any further concerns, please do let us know. You can contact us directly via our website should you wish for a more formal response: www.meonhealthpractice.co.uk/feedback/

Please accept our apologies once more and thank you again for contacting us and for being part of our practice.
