About: Heartlands Hospital

First you walk up some steps to A&E which isn’t that clearly sign-posted from the car park. The stairway was absolutely filthy with stains, litter and debris. Walked inside and thought oh my god… overcrowded waiting room and a long queue to check in. Then sent to another minor injuries clinic waiting room - no indication of waiting time etc so just sat that out for 4 hours or so, then saw nurse (nice person), then sent back to wait for approx 2 hours to see one of the two Practitioners, nice person but made comments about how tired she was. Then sent for xray- another horrible waiting area, not enough chairs, reception desk like something from a third-world hospital. The doctor was a nice person. Then back to the minor injuries. Approx 9 hours later and still waiting. I will have to leave soon, in pain with no treatment because the hospital simply cannot manage these processes efficiently and appears to be completely understaffed, and frankly it’s a grim, dirty place to wait around.
