"Support after suffering Miscarriage"

About: Gynaecology / Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic

(as a service user),

Unfortunately early May 2025, during my 8 week ultrasound scan at EPAC, myself and my husband found out that our baby was not viable and I was having a miscarriage. Kate, the nurse, was very supportive and helpful through this terrible time. She gave us the time we needed to process and was very knowledgeable and supportive of next steps. She provided us with one of the miscarriage memory boxes and when I got home and looked in the box, there was a card from Kate with a nice message, this was a lovely touch.

I returned to the EPAC clinic 2 weeks later for a check up again with Kate, and she really made me feel at ease and was very supportive and friendly. I wanted to sing her praises as she really made me feel better about an awful experience in my life and hopeful and positive about the future.

Dear cqc88

I am so sorry to hear of you and your husband's loss. This must be a very difficult time for you and we are so grateful that you have taken the time to share your positive experience with us.

The EPAC staff make every effort to ensure that patients and their partners feel supported and at ease, and it is always very gratifying to hear this.

I will ensure that your feedback is shared with Kate and the rest of the team.

I wish you well for the future and please do not hesitate to contact the EPAC team if there is any support you require in the future.

Denise Marshall, Senior Charge Nurse, Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Outpatient Services
