"Patience, kindness and support"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Acute/Medical Receiving Unit (50,51,53)

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was recently an inpatient at AAU and ward 51 Glasgow Royal Infirmary with suspected infection. As a young adult with learning difficulties this was her first experience of adult hospital, as she was previously under care at the sick kids hospital.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff we encountered during our stay - they showed her lots of patience, kindness and support to Dad and I as we stayed with her.

Everyone took their time to engage with her no matter how busy the units were and demands elsewhere.

I just wanted to give thanks to you all for excellent care and attention. 10/10 everyone x

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heart warming review. We understand how important it is for both patients and families to feel supported, especially during such a significant transition to adult care.

It’s wonderful to hear that our team was able to provide the patience, kindness, and attention your daughter needed, and that you felt supported throughout her time with us. Your recognition of our staff’s dedication means a great deal to us, and we will be sure to share your feedback with everyone involved in her care.

We wish your daughter all the best in her recovery. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience, and for your kind words.

Kristoffer Robertson
