My husband & I were taken to the RSCH A&E Dept. by ambulance last Thursday evening, while on holiday. I'd suffered a cut to the back of my head when I lost my balance on a steep slope & crashed my head into a parked van. The ambulance staff were kind & reassuring & even thought the circumstances were awful, the whole ethos of the Dept. while we waited was calm & professional. The wait time was minimal compared to other hospitals & the Information Board with approximate waiting times was regularly updated.
The two staff who examined me couldn't have been kinder. They talked me through what they were going to do at each stage which enabled me to relax & trust everything they did. They explained clearly what we should & shouldn't do once we got home & handed me a copy of the letter sent to my local surgery. We can't thank you both enough for looking after us so well.
The receptionist also deserves a mention as she took away the stress of us having to phone for a taxi, all with a smiling, caring disposition. The taxi driver was amazing too - very thoughtful, looking after our well-being with a warm taxi.
