"We are feeling a lot more happy and at ease"

About: Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick children / Short stay assessment unit

(as a parent/guardian),

My baby is just 8 days old and has spent the majority of his first days at hospital - today we were moved to Short Stay Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital for sick children and we have been made to feel so comfortable and content - staff nurse Marian who is looking after us today has been so generous and has went that extra mile to ensure that everything is perfect for us.

Dr Gillender also spoke to us and gave a clear, reassuring description of what is going on with our baby which made me feel so at ease. He was so kind and thorough and really put things into perspective for us as we have been told so many different things over the past few days.

We are feeling a lot more happy and at ease.

Hello, my name is Sinead Duffin and I am the Service Manager for the short stay unit in RBHSC. Thank you for taking the time to post your very positive experience of short stay when attending with your young baby. I will ensure that your comments are shared with the staff, particularly Marian and Dr Gillender and I know they will be delighted that they were able to make a difference and that you were happy with the care provided. I hope your baby continues to recover well.
