"Hospital failed to keep appointment"

I had a letter booking a telephone appointment. I waited all afternoon and evening but no telephone call. 

I called them and there was disbelief I had an appointment. I said I was holding the letter. Only then did they check and confirm I had the appointment but they had failed to keep it.

I am not happy. If I had failed to keep an appointment I would have been discharged. They are not fit for purpose.
