"Lack of reassurance"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Elective admissions (CEAW) 4 south

(as a relative),

I just dropped my elderly mother into 4 South Surgical at Craigavon Area Hospital. She was feeling very apprehensive. The member of staff on reception was very brusque. In these situations a smile and pleasant demeanour is needed to reassure patients. As someone who has many years retail experience customer care is very important. You have to leave your own troubles at home and be professional, friendly and courteous at all times but a bit of warmth is even more important in a healthcare setting.

Good afternoon

I appreciate you taking time to raise your concerns during your recent visit to the Southern Health Social Care Trust.

Whilst it is difficult for me to identify the individual it is my expectation that all staff treat all patients, relatives, visitors with the upmost respect and in a a friendly, courteous manner.

I will be taking learning from your experience and address this with all administrative staff on the front line under my management.

With kind regards
