My partner very recently was admitted onto ward 23 SGH. He was quite poorly and not well enough to really verbalise his needs and is not one for asking for help.
As a professional myself I was all ready to need to advocate on his behalf in order to ensure he was receiving good care, however I soon realised I did not need to do this as felt confident staff were providing good care to him.
At his bedside I was observant of staff whilst attending to other patients, some who were needing more Care and support due to other impairments. The health Care staff on this ward were so very attentive to their patients, showing nothing but respect and kindness, nothing was too much to ask for.
It particular I would like to show appreciation to a health Care assistant named Fahima, she worked a lot during my partner's stay, but never showed anything less then a huge smile to all. She chatted away and built good rapport with patients and their friends/family. Her caring and happy nature was really lovely to witness. It takes a special kind of person to go that extra mile in a caring role, and Fahima and her colleagues most certainly did.
Thankyou to all on ward 23.
