"Everything here works like clockwork"

About: Cancer Services / Radiotherapy

(as the patient),

This is my second time attending Radiotherapy - I was here four years ago.

Everything here works like clockwork. Staff are all very helpful and friendly.

Car parking is my main issue. I was an hour late recently for my appointment as I just couldn’t get a parking space. I have seen people parking in blue badge spaces without a blue badge, but giving folk the benefit of the doubt, this could be because the markings in the car park need to be re-done, especially the disabled ones, and people maybe can’t see the yellow lines.

I can’t think of any improvements that can be made. Staff are all marvellous. Last time I was here - during Covid - Bob and one other member of staff stayed on every night after 5.30 to let me in (through the back door!) for my treatment. I thought that was really going the extra mile.

Four years ago when I was here the machine kept breaking down because of its age, but I have had no problems in that direction this time with the new machine.

Another thing to mention is that the staff recognise you by your name. I don’t know how they do it but they remember everybody’s name.

Dear Rory1,

My name is Jenna-one of the therapeutic radiographers from the radiotherapy team. Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. I will ensure that I pass on your compliments to the staff and am glad you found them to be friendly and helpful and were recognised and treated as an individual.

I'm so sorry you had issues with the car park-we get alot of comments about how difficult it can be to get a space and having to wait for a long time, we do apologise and we can pass these comments to the Head of Radiotherapy who can report them in further meetings.

Good to hear that you didn't encounter any issues with the machine breaking down this time.

We wish you all the best,

Take care, Jenna
