"Rude manner"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Cardiology (Heart Conditions)

(as the patient),

I recently went for a heart scan at New Victoria Hospital, Grange Road, Glasgow. While there I was asked to sit on the bed and the staff member was extremely rude.

While attaching the pads/wires, my arm hit against one. They said -  I am not here for fun! I found this quite upsetting. I had been up the whole night worrying about going to the appointment for my heart! I certainly wasn’t there for fun!

I found this beside manner ridiculous! I am in my 70s. I was worried sick and certainly did not expect to be told I was there for fun!

Dear tucanaxc64

Many thanks for taking the time to speak with me on the telephone via the formal complaints process. I am pleased that we were able to address the issues raised.

As agreed, I have again spoken with the staff member involved. They were dismayed that you were anxious and upset after your appointment.

I appreciate your kind words regarding other members of the team, which I have passed on to them.

Kind regards

Annette
