"I feel like a weight has been lifted"

About: Neurodiversity Services / Doncaster ADHD team

(as a service user),

Shelley has been wonderfully supportive and understanding throughout the whole process. She has made me feel really comfortable and valued. I have been very happy with the whole process.

Gaining this diagnosis has honestly changed my life. Having the confirmation of what I suspected has made me more confident to have my needs met at work. I feel that I understand myself much more, and that this has improved my self esteem. Having the medication is also a massive help in my day to day life. I feel like a weight has been lifted.

The only thing that I wish could be improved is the waiting time for an assessment.

Hi I am Jo the Manager for the Team. Firstly thank you for taking the time to complete the care opinion form. Your positive feedback is greatly appreciated and I will be sure to pass on your lovely comments to Shelley. As a service we recognise that a patient journey can at times be anxiety provoking and very stressful especially in regard to your presenting symptoms. Due to these presenting symptoms we like to think that our practitioners are always supportive, empathic and provide encouragement to our patients to be open and honest at their diagnostic appointments as this enables the practitioners to gather the information required to provide a diagnosis. We do recognise that the diagnosis is only part part of the cog in the wheel so to speak and that there are many more needed to be able to continue with your journey through our service. May I take this opportunity to wish you good luck with your ongoing patient journey.
