"Staff were first class"

About: National Treatment Centre - Highland (Inverness) / Orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Travelled to Inverness for a full hip replacement.

Facility was excellent.

Staff were first class. Knowledgeable Friendly and Extremely hard-working.

Food was also excellent.

Op was carried out by Mr Reston and his team same day.

I was talked through by all members of the team so there was no real anxiety.

Had me standing up within a few hours of the op.

Staff couldn't do enough for me.

They showered me, fed me, helped me dress and get into bed.

During the first night, when I struggled to sleep, the nurse, Sophie, checked me every 15 minutes. Outstanding.

Dear Ajax

Thank you very much for your lovely post following your admission to the National Treatment Centre for total hip replacement surgery.

I am delighted to hear that you received such good care from everyone and that you were made to feel at ease about the procedure.

It is always a pleasure to receive such kind comments and to know that the staff at NHS Highland are appreciated both for their hard work and for their attitude towards patients.

I have forwarded your feedback to the relevant team and asked that managers share this with all the staff involved in your care.

We aim to provide a high standard of care and treatment to the community we serve, and I trust that should you have need of our services in the future your experience will be just as positive.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback your experience.

I hope that your recovery is going well and that you are keeping up with all your post-surgery exercises.

With kind regards

Sylvia

Update posted by Ajax (the patient)

Hello Sylvia,

Thank you for your reply.

It is good to know that my response was read and passed to the relevant people.

My recovery is going well and, as my good lady is an ex nurse, and I have two daughters, I am not short of "advice" when it comes to exercise!

I had my clips removed yesterday and the nurse was very pleased with both the condition of the wound and my level of mobility, so thanks again to Mr Reston and his team.

Please keep up the good work.

Again, thank you.
