Didn't want to leave this review as the practice and my named Dr have been pleasant to me since I joined the practice, however after with what happened yesterday I felt was nessecary. Ever since joining the surgery I've been treated as an addict because I've been forced to manage my own pain medication after being initially perscribed morphine for myofacial pain syndrome and was taken off it without any support by a previous surgery. I realised that staying with the surgery I was going to continue to be treated like a addict and be told to go to BDP when they've already told me it would be impossible to get me of drugs without any pain relief instated. I haven't made any complaints due to the way I've been treated which was pleasant up to most NHS services I've interacted with, however when I tried to unregister yesterday the practice manager was trying to get into a heated argument with me and blamed everything on myself which was exactly what I was trying to avoid by simply deregistering. They blamed the fact that I've had overdoses on the reason not to perscribe, when the only reason I've had overdoses is to self manage my condition. I've had a pain specialist and rheumatologist both recommend that I stay on morphine and it was yanked by my last surgery which I don't blame this one for. But what I am upset about is having the practice manager flick through my records and use all of them against me in a argument. There's no point going to see a doctor once a week if they just consider you to be an addict and don't realise your self medicating to get out of pain. When I come to appointments none of the emails from other professionals encouraging my doctor to work on a pain management solution has been read, I'm left to say what's happened for the previous week taking up the whole appointment and nothing ever comes from the appointment. I'm left taking my own street bought meds which I'm not even sure are legit, and the practice manager has the nerve to blame me for ending up back and forth to the hospital because of it because it makes her practice look bad as she stated to me before. I wanted to leave this practice peacefully but considering you wanted to engage in a argument and blame everything on me I thought I'd leave this here for other people to see. Just because you are situated on Stapleton road, does not give you the right to judge every patient as a addict, and if they had some support in pain management they might not have to resort to their own drugs and end up taking to much. If someone already has a diagnosis and treatment that worked well for them, you should work with the patient to reinstate it rather than work against them and saying implying their a addict and to go to the drugs project. Many other professionals have agreed and sent the practice emails but they don't read any of them.
