I am a Healthcare worker myself but this was the first time since I became a Healthcare worker that I experienced A&E as a patient.
Yesterday morning I experienced 2 fainting episodes at home. I live alone so there was no one to help me. I rang the Phone First service for advice, and received a quick call back about what had happened. They then rang for an ambulance. The ambulance arrived quite quickly and the 3 attendants - Alan, Abby/Abigail, and Cathal (student) - were all very helpful, did some tests on me, made sure I was comfortable and after talking everything over, they made the decision to bring me to A&E.
From the time I arrived in the waiting room yesterday morning, until I left at lunchtime today, everyone I encountered - nurses, HCA's, doctors, and admin staff, were all very helpful and made sure I was ok.
I took the names of most of the staff I dealt with so that I could tell you - SN Ruben, SN Stephanie (possibly Stacy or both), SN Cara, SN Orlaith., SN Ahmed, Fiona (X-Ray technician), Dr Mun, Dr Amber, Dr Darrell, Dr Oduwouja (consultant, but not sure of her correct spelling). I may have missed a couple, apologies, but please accept my heartfelt thanks for looking after me over the last 24 hours.
