"Felt safe in the knowledge that I was going to be looked after"

About: Victoria Hospital / Emergency Care Ambulatory Service (ECAS)

(as a service user),

i was taken unwell at home and a neighbour advised me to call for help, I was then sent to ecas and was met with a lovely group of people a lovely nurse called Sim and Alison, it took me a while to find the place but once I did I was immediately greeted by a lady called Alison she saw that I was slightly confused as to why I was there so she sat and explained the process and explained step by step what would happen the dr wanted me to have a lumbar puncture and I was terrified. So again Alison sat and held my hand and talked me through the process and calmed me down. I decided against it as my fear was too great but Alison gave me options for future should the need areas, I was absolutely blown away by her kindness and Sim also was able to reassure me that everything would be ok and I was in the right place.

Its been a few weeks now and I wanted to share my sorry so that both Sim and Alison get the recognition that they truly deserve. I wasn't the easiest of patients but everything was done with care and a smile and made me feel safe in the knowledge that I was going to be looked after

From the bottom of my heart I am so very grateful as I have had some awful experiences in that hospital
