(as a service user),

Hello there,

This is a message to say thank you to all the kind people who helped us after our car accident

The emergency services worked seamlessly together treating us with kindness and dignity at all times. Members of the public helped me get to safety and stayed with me at the side of the road, others sat with my trapped partner and comforted her until the emergency services arrived. The Police, Fire service, Paramedics and Air Ambulance all attended the scene.

I was treated in Wishaw and my partner was air lifted to Queen Elizabeth, Glasgow. The staff at Wishaw helped me to visit my partner that evening. All of our medical care was clearly explained to us. My partner's operation was the day after the accident and both surgeries were performed at the same time. The trauma psychologist gave unexpected additional help.

We have used: Wishaw Trauma unit, Queen Elizabeth Glasgow Trauma unit Ward 1C, Airthrey Park Medical Centre, Bridge or Allan Health Centre, Forth Valley Accident and emergency, X-ray & outpatients Stirling X-ray

The police were very clear about the process, we were given a named officer to contact. They kept us well informed and checked up on my partner in hospital later on the night of the accident. I suffered peculiar after effects of concussion which must have made me hard work to talk to.

We are lucky to be alive. The outcomes could not have been so good if it weren't for all the excellent help we have had.

Thank you again!

Dear chrissygboy,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, Trauma Assessment Unit.

I am really sorry to hear about your car accident. This sounds like such a frightening time for you and your partner. I am so pleased to hear that the staff in Wishaw took such good care of you and ensured you could visit your partner at a different hospital.

I will ensure that your kind words are shared with the whole team, who I am sure will get a real boost in hearing it.

I hope you are both recovering well.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
