"Reception staff lack of training "

About: Woodlands Medical Practice

Called at 8.30 to book appointment for my little girl as shes been so poorly with tonsillitis for a few days and vomiting and fever of 41. She’s also not drinking or eating. Was told I cannot book appointment and need to be seen by Pharmacist as they can issue antibiotics to a child over 5. My daughter is 6. I went for 9am open time just to be told we won’t be seen as she’s been sick (and the receptionist was told about that before she told me to go to pharmacy) I called GP and was told no face to face appointments left for today. Was told to stop being rude when I complained about the poor health care service and that staff should be trained better. I am not happy at all. I have always been an advocate for our GP but today’s experience showed that their health care standards are slipping and staff are not willing to apologise for their mistakes. More and better training should be given!
