"The most special place"

About: Outpatients Department / Carers Cafe Outpatients Department / Complementary Therapy Outpatients Department / Tai Chi

(as a carer),

We had recently been given a referral to this wonderful unit, by the Parkinson’s Team from Coathill Hospital, who also offer great support.

After a first meeting at the outpatients department with Elaine and other staff members, my husband was assessed by Joe who has introduced him to the Friday Tai Chi class, which he has enjoyed.

I go to the Dove Cafe on a Friday and I find all staff, volunteers included have been some of the nicest caring people I have met for a long time.

We now go to St Andrews Hospice also on a Monday afternoon class for Parkinson’s.

The support I have encountered from staff at St Andrews especially Elaine who offers great advice and as a carer I find it all invaluable and has helped us both immensely.

It is the most special place.

We would like to say the referral has been the best offer of support. A chance for me to meet other Parkinson’s Carers and for my husband to meet other Parkinson’s patient’s. I had a lovely half hour Reiki session thank you very much for the lovely food and tea and coffee, I left thinking what a lovely day I had.

What fantastic professional caring staff a credit to the hospice.
