(as a service user),

My mum had excruciating pain in her knee after a 111 referral to our local out of hours and trip to the Western was needed.

Staff at the western were exceptional! Quick to put mum at ease & start tests to identify the cause of the pain. Every member of staff we came in contact with were friendly & nothing too much trouble. Cannot fault the team in same day care on a bank holiday!

Many thanks for your comments - I am answering on behalf of one of the services involved in your mum's care that day, initially at the GP Out of Hours Service at East Lothian Community Hospital. I am delighted that she received high level care from everyone and hope she is making a full recovery. I will pass on your comments to the team working at ELCH GP OOH that day and I know it will be a very welcome boost!
