During an admission at Monklands Hospital  for my pancreas I was  admitted to Ward 6 and was under there care for about a week and whilst I was in I was starting to struggle mentally it was beating my physical health and i just couldn't tell anyone as I was scared.
A nurse called Sophie was looking after me and came into my room for medication and I was not in a good place, in fact I wanted to discharge myself and well, end my life and stop all the pain and stop wasting peoples time.
Sophie had a chat with me and made me feel comfortable and safe to open up and tell the nurse how I was feeling and I was given the reassurance that there was help available and that I was ill so I needed help on top of that the help that was available.
Sophie then done the necessary steps and the next day psychiatric help came to see me. I was put on new medication and also waiting to see a specialist.
Sophie went out her way  to make sure I felt safe and stable also I came in for a different admission after this and Sophie was in for a course and popped in too see how I was doing, this blew me away as Sophie had saved my life I just wanted to give in and I can only be eternally grateful for the care that I received over and beyond. Sophie really did save my life.
