"What an amazing team of people"

About: Nightingale Hospital Exeter / South West Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre

(as the patient),

I had a knee arthroscopy. I was extremely anxious- about literally everything! I’m afraid of needles, worried about the general anaesthetic, terrified of not coping with the pain in front of my already anxious teenager etc etc.

I didn’t hold it together very well which is a bit mortifying. Every single person I came into contact with was efficient, patient, and caring at all times. I ended up staying overnight, more for my own benefit than medical need. I am conscious that this caused extra work for people working overnight and the next morning and I’m so grateful to them. It really helped to be able to stay a bit longer and I feel more confident to cope at home and hopefully heal more quickly as a result.

Thank you to all those who looked after me so well, including all the people behind the scenes that I’m sure we don’t see. Thanks again.

Dear pilingsbk56,

My name is Sanisha Renney and I am the Project Support Officer at Nightingale.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We completely understand how overwhelming medical procedures can be, and we’re so glad that you felt supported and cared for throughout your journey with us.

We are thrilled to hear that our team was able to provide you with the reassurance and care you needed to feel more comfortable and confident. It’s also wonderful that staying overnight allowed you to recover in a more relaxed environment.

We all work together to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible, and your feedback means so much to every team member involved in your care.

Best Wishes

Sanisha Renney
