"Royal Victoria Hospital A&E visit"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

Had to bring my partner down to the royal belfast at the beginning of May. When he arrived they could see he was not well and got him straight through to resus in Amber section.

The doctor there (I think is name was Darren) was very good. He set up all the relevant tests and liaise with my partners liver consultants. He communicated well with us and put us at ease.

He then got moved to Majors B part of A&E, here he was cared for by nurse Danielle whom I have to say was a first class nurse. She was very attentive and even with this department being very busy she saw to all his needs.

Also would like to give a shout out to Chris (nursing assistant) he also was very attentive and when going round with tea trolly made sure my partner got sorted with Tea and biscuits and when the drip that he was connected to was nearly finished he made sure he got disconnected.

To be fair I am only mentioning the staff that we got talking to but I could see it was a well organised/run department and are forever grateful.

Dear Carol04,

I’m John Barron, Service Manager for Urgent and Emergency Care. Thank you for taking a few moments to share your experience. I’ll be sure to pass on your comments to Darren, Danielle and Chris and the wider team. It’ll be a great encouragement for them to hear, doing what they do makes a difference.

Kind regards

John
