At the beginning of January I took a seizure whilst at work. I was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where I received care (bloods and neuro observations) then discharged the same day. I never received a CT scan or EEG and was told I would receive follow up appointments from a neurologist.
That was 5 months ago and I am yet to receive any appointments or communication. After weeks of trying I have been notified who my appointed consultant is, but no formal appointment has been made yet
I was told when I was in hospital I am no longer able to work until further testing and examinations have taken place by the consultant. Worryingly, I was not put on any preventative medication to avoid future seizures potentially taken place.
I have been told I am not permitted to work or drive but recently I was told I will not be seen by the consultant for at least another 60 weeks!
I am a young man with 2 children to support and not entitled to anything other that SSP. This is having a huge impact on my health and wellbeing and it's unbelievable not to have any contact or communications with anyone within the department given the life changing restrictions put on me. No clarity what so ever.
I am extremely disappointed in the whole process and although grateful for the treatment at A&E the follow up has been nothing short of appalling. I hope this can be resolved as a matter of urgency. I need clarity and a plan of action.
Hopefully things can be moved along quicker and get the answers needed to move on with my life.
