"Hospital Outside space"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Radiology

(as a service user),

At Monklands Hospital for a scan and had to wait a few hours. I'm ok with this. But wanted to go outside and sit in the sun and just breathe in some fresh air. I walked round the whole hospital and found one bench near a car park.

Saw a nurse out for a quick break sitting on a step in a small confined space. Surely there should be some amenable outside space or gardens for both staff and patients to go. Nature is so necessary as part of our healing journey and was just so shocked there were no pleasant areas to sit or even just benches for infirm and/or elderly to take a breath.

Please do better!

Dear SharonG2101,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Monklands, Radiology.

I am sorry to hear that there was not a sufficient outdoor space to sit while attending hospital. I completely understand how it would nice to sit outside and get fresh air away from

As you will be aware, there is a new Monklands Hospital being built and I will pass your comments to the project team as they appreciate feedback from patients and the public to help shape the project.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
