About: Health visiting / Angus Health Visiting

(as a service user),

In the last couple of years, Lauren has been actively involved in the health and well-being needs of my children, specifically my now 5 year old daughter.

Following a parental separation and some behavioural type concerns raised by the education setting, Lauren took a very proactive, objective and positive approach in lending her support to me, my family and most importantly my daughter.

Due to some of the factors at play such as separation and differing parental opinions regarding my daughter, there was multiple breakdown in communication between myself, my daughters mum and the education setting.
Recognising this, Lauren proactively created a child's planning forum which seen regular meetings of all concerned, to get first hand views of those involved, track my daughter's progress and ensure any concerns were clear and understood, with the associated support offered.
One outcome of this was semi regular home visits by Lauren, and I am impressed by how she communicates and listens to both my children and I.
I have a 50-50 equal care structure of my children, and while many health and education settings appear ill equipped to effectively support such structures (especially if you are a dad), Lauren seemed to immediately understand how to best support this (while recognising it caused her more work) which was a real positive for me after the negative experiences I have had to ensure that I receive equal access and influence over aspects of my children's health and well-being.
My daughter continues to progress as I would hope and expected, and Lauren has done a great job in ensuring all the various influences around her are connected and moving in the same direction, with communication now much clearer.
Lauren is a credit to the NHS, and I would like to formally thank her on behalf of my family for all her support through what has been a reasonably difficult period.
