"Support for my drinking"

About: Buccleuch House (IDAS) Inclusion Isle of Wight

(as a service user),

I had been struggling with binge drinking for the past two years. My family had reached a breaking point with my behaviour and began looking for ways to support me, they found Inclusion. My sister made a referral on my behalf, and I attended an assessment.

Initially, I was anxious, especially as I waited about three weeks before hearing from someone named Jim. From the start, Jim was consistent and reliable, always keeping to our scheduled appointments, even when I didn’t always attend, he would contact me outside of our scheduled appointments to ensure I was ok. He was motivational and helped me understand the reasons behind my binge drinking. With his support, I was able to break the cycle and develop healthier habits. He also encouraged me to make progress in other areas of my life.

Since then, I have successfully abstained from alcohol and maintained my sobriety. My life has changed significantly for the better, and I have no desire to return to drinking. I now look forward to attending Jim’s evening group. Thank you.
