"Physiotherapy care following an accident"

About: Community Services (Adult Physical Health) / Therapy Hub - Physiotherapy Doncaster Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a service user),

It was a cold dark night in January when I slipped down our front steps.

I knew I'd done something nasty because I literally heard the bones break, followed by a searing pain.

I had fractured my femur in 2 places and broken the neck of my femur.

I was in theatre next day where a rod was driven down the centre of my femur and several bolts and screws holding it all together.

I was discharged after 9 days.

The next day, the physiotherapy at home began. I received this care twice a week. The ladies who put me through my paces were very good and sympathetic to the amount of pain I was in (it was excruciating).

Occasionally Holly would call and I genuinely cannot thank her enough. I knew I needed stronger pain meds, but couldn't get to our GP surgery because of my condition. Holly wrote to my GP and sorted it out. Her little pep talks filled me with hope when I felt like giving in. Holly is a diamond young lady and a true asset to the company.

Hello,

Firstly many thanks for taking the time to complete feedback to the team, it is very much appreciated.

We are so pleased that you found it beneficial having the teams input and that you gained support for your pain.

I will pass on the kind words you have sent to Holly and the team.
