About: Primary Care Mental Health & Wellbeing Nurses / Primary Care Mental Health & Wellbeing Nursing Team - Perth City

(as a service user),

My older sister passed away in November 2024, she was like a second mother to me and I took it really hard as were quite close and I just felt lost not having her their, it has been difficult picking up the pieces again and I  have been through all the emotions that grief brings with it, I had contacted my doctor who put me in touch with my local primary care mental health and wellbeing service and I made an appointment with Yna, a senior support worker in my local health centre.

Yna was very kind, supportive and listened even though all I did was cry through my appointment she made me feel at ease she also gave me some very good advice of other services which was available, I used the Listening service and the lady I had spoke to there again was very kind and helpful too, I now feel that with all the help from professionals, family and friends I am able to move forward with my life, and the help is always going to be there if I need it in future. I am so grateful to everyone.

I was very happy with the service from all the health professionals that I have been in contact with so far, I am not sure how this service could be improved so I feel I can not answer this question honestly.

Dear caringzd97,

Thank you so much for getting in touch to feedback about your experience of the Primary Care Mental Health and Wellbeing Nurse Service in Perth City. My name is Pam Lamond and I am the Senior Charge Nurse for the service.

I am so sorry to hear that you lost your sister lost year. It sounds like you were very close to her and it must have been a terribly sad and difficult time for you. I am so pleased to hear that Yna, your Primary Care Mental Health and Wellbeing Nurse, was kind and supportive and helped to sign post you to other supportive services. I will be sure to pass on your positive feedback to Yna and your grateful thanks, who will be delighted that she has made a difference to your wellbeing. It sounds like the Listening Service has been a really good source of support for you, helping you to move forward with your life.

Thank you again for your lovely feedback and I am very happy to hear that you have no feedback on how we can improve this service. It means a lot to staff to hear that they have impacted so positively on an individuals recovery.

Pam Lamond

Senior Charge Nurse
