"Eternal gratitude to the Coronary Care Unit team"

About: Cardiology / Heart Failure Nurses Ninewells Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was rushed by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after suffering a heart attack; where I was initially cared for by my 'Purple Angels' at St Andrews Community Hospital (that's in a separate review).

I spent 2 days in ACU, then another 2 days in CCU, and another 4 days in a 'temporary Ward 21'. This is where I was blessed to experience CARE over just treatment. From the most understanding and attentive Lynn and Arturo (I can still you hear you pushing the tea cart around offering fresh toast) who helped me overcome my anxiety, to Rebecca and Cara who pre-empted my every need, and Dr's Martin and Collins who put up with my endless questions, and badgering with the admin and insurance forms; even after I had left Dr Martin continued to respond to my emails - thank you, thank you. Please forgive me if I have omitted anyone, and the absence of surnames. I am indebted to everyone involved in my treatment, care and recovery.

I am now safely back in my home country and thank my gods and angels every day for my good fortune in being in your care at that unfortunate time. You have shown me what it is to really live your calling, and I will pay it forward by sharing this experience and what medical care really should be.

I remain eternally grateful. You are genuine life-savers.
