Before being diagnosed with cancer I was an avid gym goer training 5 days a week.
Following my Chemoradiotherapy treatments I lost a lot of weight, suffered from fatigue, very low energy levels and low mood, I am just over a year post treatment now and still not back to the old me. After attending 2x fatigue classes online with the Belfast Trust I was referred to Joe, a Physical Activity Coach with the Friends of the Cancer Centre for 12 weeks of excercise classes try to help improve my energy levels and mobility.I have just finished my last session today and looking back 12 weeks ago I didnt think I would have progressed so much in such a short space of time. I am nowhere near my normal activity levels, but have noticed an improvement in my mood, energy level, and basic fitness thanks to Joe's dedication.
Joe was very patient with those attending his classes, helping them to complete their exercises in a safe manner using proper form to avoid injury, he was very attentive and aware of each persons diagnosis and physical limitations due to their various treatments, advising which exescises certain people should skip or adjust to work around their limitations
I would definitely recommend Joe's classes, he is an asset to the Belfast Trust and the Friends of the Cancer Centre
