I visited the Diabetic Retinal Eye screening today with my husband who has advanced Alzheimer’s. I have to thank the staff for their kind compassionate and patient manor with my husband and myself.
They’re tried so hard to enable him to have his test from rearranging the room to accommodate his chair to patience when trying to get him to cooperate with the test with good success. Not only during the process but afterwards. He was offered something to eat whilst we had a long wait for patient transport and nothing was too much for them.
My only complaint is a systemic one. My husband has had his retinal screening done for many years and every year with the Purpose of monitoring any changes however I am very disappointed that the team had no access nor would have, to his previous test results / photographs done by mid Yorkshire hospital trust and so nothing to compare with. Surley this is an important record that should be shared within the nhs system.
Please give my thanks to the staff today
My husbands appointment time 11.40.
"Excellent compassionate care"
