"12 week scan"

About: Maternity care / Maternity and Gynaecology outpatient clinics

(as a service user),

I received my letter for my 12 week scan a couple of weeks in advance which was great. Unfortunately the date they give me I am unable to make my appointment so I tired to call the next day to get a change of appointment. They supply 4 different numbers, I tried calling all of them no answer. I then proceeded to try for over a week and no answer! I got through to the main Gyne outpatient’s but they were unable to help, I also explained what was going on. They transferred me through and again it rang out! The next day the same thing happened.

I then asked my sister to call in and explain and try and get my an appointment as she works in the hospital, their response was they are too busy and they will phone me. I understand that workplaces are busy and people have a lot of things to do but this is a week I have been calling and there are people specific for bookings. I am still awaiting a phone call from them!

This is my first scan and I just want to get a rescheduled appointment to scan my baby and make sure everything is ok. This has left me very stressed and disappointed as I need to give mine & my husbands employer notice so there can be cover in place.

Hi inspirefe63,

I am so sorry that this has happened to you. Our phone lines are extremely busy, but I understand how frustrating it can be when you can't get speaking to anyone.

This is presenting us with new challenges especially with rescheduling appointments as our appointments have also decreased to facilitate this roll out.

Would you be able to give me a ring to my office and I will be able to discuss this with you further and see if I can help resolve this issue? My number is 02837562350.
