The system here in Radiotherapy works very well - everything runs on time and all the staff are really helpful and pleasant.
You need information that is going to help you look after your body. At the beginning of treatment you get an introductory information pack at the Maggi Centre which includes a sheet on healthy eating. But I found that this was not appropriate for me - I needed a sheet telling me what not to eat.
At one stage I had a bit of a bowel problem and was issued with medication to sort it out and a sheet explaining what not to eat. That was a real help, and I think this should be included in the introductory pack from the Maggi Centre, together with more information about the amount you should eat. People need to know about the amount of fibre they should be eating.
There is also the problem of de-hydration and the fact that you need to drink so much water-based liquid before you come to your appointment. I think this information should also be included in the introductory pack.
